Life in board shorts: Home is just a road trip away

Happy 2019! We woke up and grabbed breakfast in the hotel lobby, dreading the drive back to North Carolina. We were planning to stop in Savannah, so that was something to look forward to. That and South of the Border. Yeah, not so much, that’s more of an iconic milestone that we’re almost home. It was a fun road trip home, which were sure you can relate to in some capacity.

Life in board shorts: Final tide change in Cocoa Beach

Today was our last day in Cocoa Beach before heading to Jacksonville for the Gator Bowl. We had to pack everything up, but before hitting the road for two hours, we wanted to milk our time in the warm sun in Cocoa Beach. There was surf, a final visit to Ron Jon’s, and some lunch at the Tiny Turtle. Once we arrived Jacksonville, we checked into our hotel and went to the beach where things were chilly and foggy. It was another amazing day in Florida.

Another beautiful day in Rincon was on tap. An early morning surf session with some of the leftover swell was a great way to start the day. Then the family was all geared up for a morning sail on the Katarina and some snorkeling in the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve. This was day four of our Spring Break and our last full day on the island of Puerto Rico. Continue reading

Our travels would bring us to the warm waters and surf of the Caribbean in Rincon, Puerto Rico then to the mountain tops of the Rockies for snow boarding and skiing. But we had to get there first. Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week

I love food and I love exploring new restaurants in downtown Raleigh.  Beginning today, Aug. 23, 2010  through Sunday Aug. 29, 2010, several downtown Raleigh restaurants will be showcasing their menu’s during Downtown Raleigh Restaurant week.  Participating restaurants are offering a 3-course prix fixe dinner for either $20 or $30 – the menu includes an appetizer, entree and dessert (tip, taxes and beverages are not included).
