The final day of One Love California Reggae Festival was another day full of back-to-back sets from some of our favorite bands and some of our new favorite bands. We slept in a bit today after a really long Saturday to make the most of the final day.
Our main focus was to arrive in time and get a good spot to see the Common Kings. But the weather was going to be a challenge. Colder temps and rain was in the forecast, but we were prepared thanks to last year. Game on.
The second day of One Love California Reggae Festival was awesome and very long. I can say that we were both tired and our feet were hurting from standing all day. We got to see some of our favorite bands and explore some new ones.
Our line-up included (listened to Low Budget on our way in to see the) Bumpin Uglies (great set), Of Good Nature (from Charlotte, NC), Passafire, The Movement (best set of the day), Seranation, Fortunate Youth, Tribal Seeds, SOJA, Stick Figure, Rebelution, and The Original Wailers.
The last day of Spring Break in Southern California was awesome. Our plan was to head over to Hollywood and visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Chinese Theater. Then later in the afternoon, we decided that we would explore the Santa Monica pier and go out with a bang. We had a nice dinner, rode lots of rides, and enjoyed the sunset from the ferris wheel. Life doesn’t get much better than this. Continue reading →
We captured some amazing views of the coast today. Our morning started off at Oceanside Pier before we packed up the car and headed north to Los Angeles. On the way, we stopped at San Onofre and then did a driving tour of Venice Beach. Once we got settled in at our new place in Santa Monica, we enjoyed the views of LA from the Griffith Observatory. Imagine, build, and ride. That’s what we had in mind as we enjoyed another day of Spring Break in California. Our adventures this time would take us to Legoland in Carlsbad. After a full day at the theme park, we enjoyed the brew scene and dinner at Breakwater Brewing Company back in Oceanside. Continue reading →
The family was very much enjoying Spring Break in Southern California. The San Diego portion of our trip was wrapped up and we were enjoying our new digs in Oceanside. It was Easter Sunday and we didn’t have much on the agenda. Since we’ve been on the go since we arrived, we decided to take it easy today and hang around our home away from home. Running, surfing, and enjoying life by the pool were on tap. Time to get hopping! Continue reading →
Another beautiful day in Southern California. It was day two of our Spring Break living the Cali life and we decided to head back to San Diego with a few options in mind. We were interested in a tour of Petco Park and then maybe seeing the U.S.S. Midway. Visiting some craft brews were also on tap. We ended up at Stone Brewing and Mission Brewery before the day was done. Continue reading →
The trumpeting sound of the elephants and the swinging sensation from monkeys and other primates were calling our name! Our first day of Spring Break in southern California was spent exploring all the animals at the San Diego Zoo. And after a long day walking around, we enjoyed the fine craft beer from Ballast Point Brewing Company in Little Italy. Continue reading →
This year for Spring Break, we contemplated going back to Puerto Rico or another island in the Caribbean. Maybe Costa Rica would be nice again or trying somewhere new like Panama could be adventurous. Flights were looking pricey to all those places, so we spun the globe and looked at a few locations that might entertain the family for a little spring getaway. Our final decision: Southern California. Continue reading →
