It was our last day in Puerto Rico for Spring Break. We had a completely different second half planned to go snowboarding and we were off to Denver later in the day. But first, we had to soak in as much sun as possible before heading to the airport. We enjoyed our remaining time on the beaches near our condo. Continue reading →
Another beautiful day in Rincon was on tap. An early morning surf session with some of the leftover swell was a great way to start the day. Then the family was all geared up for a morning sail on the Katarina and some snorkeling in the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve. Our travels would bring us to the warm waters and surf of the Caribbean in Rincon, Puerto Rico then to the mountain tops of the Rockies for snow boarding and skiing. But we had to get there first. And that meant leaving early from a light rain in Raleigh, NC to a better state of mind. Continue reading →
I was up at 5:30 AM Central Time and looking to surf. This was our third day in Costa Rica, Tuesday, December 20. And it was Merri Beth’s birthday today!
I took a short walk to Playa Negra with my surfboard under my arm and eagerly awaited the surf check to see how things were. As I made the left towards the beach, I could already hear the surf crashing on the volcanic reef. When I arrived at the break, there were only a handful of guys on the main peak. I paddled out to join them. Continue reading →
