{"id":21,"date":"2010-08-23T14:54:20","date_gmt":"2010-08-23T18:54:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hibbets.net\/blog\/?p=21"},"modified":"2010-08-23T15:10:47","modified_gmt":"2010-08-23T19:10:47","slug":"getting-excited-about-the-first-drupalcamp-boone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hibbets.net\/blog\/2010\/08\/23\/getting-excited-about-the-first-drupalcamp-boone\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting excited about the first DrupalCamp Boone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m heading up to <a title=\"Boone, NC\" href=\"http:\/\/hibbets.net\/pics\/nc_boone.php\" target=\"_blank\">Boone, NC<\/a> this weekend to attend my first DrupalCamp and the first <a title=\"DrupalCamp held in Boone\" href=\"http:\/\/www.drupalcampboone.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">DrupalCamp held in Boone<\/a>. My first trip to Boone was for Leadership North Carolina orientation a few years ago. Then we went on a mini-family get-away last summer with my in-laws to check out the Tweetsie Railroad with our then, 3-year old son Zander.<\/p>\n<p>This weekend, I&#8217;m looking forward to learning more about Drupal, including sessions<!--more--> like <em>CSS in Drupal<\/em> and <em>Making Drupal Friendli(er) for Content Editors<\/em>.The <a title=\"keynote\" href=\"http:\/\/www.drupalcampboone.com\/keynote\" target=\"_blank\">keynote<\/a> with Chris Grams, my former Director at Red Hat, should be a good treat for all Drupalers. The after-camp social event at <a title=\"Char\" href=\"http:\/\/www.char179.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Char<\/a> looks like fun too.<\/p>\n<p>I submitted a session and it got accepted. I&#8217;ll be talking about <em>Creating online community the open source way<\/em>, which will highlight some of the Drupal components being used on opensource.com.\u00a0 The main focus will be around online community building and fostering participation via social media and traditional methods.<\/p>\n<p>Can&#8217;t wait for the event!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\"><em>(PS &#8211; I know it&#8217;s ironic to post about Drupal on a WordPress powered blog, but, we just need a blog here&#8230;for now)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m heading up to Boone, NC this weekend to attend my first DrupalCamp and the first DrupalCamp held in Boone.
