Topsail Island, North Carolina
Topsail Island is a great get-a-way spot. It's quiet, it's not to busy, and it's always relaxing. From Raleigh, you can take I-40 East, then Highway 210 to Highway 50. A quick 2 hour drive puts you on the quaint beaches of Topsail Island. Go to North Topsail, check out the Surf City Pier right over the bridge, or head south to Topsail Beach. The beaches are clean, the people are nice, and the surf is decent when the conditions are right.
