World Travel

Australia - November 2005 - A trip to Brisbane, Australia in November of 2005. Check out Teneriffe, Valley Forge, The Regatta, and a cool Milton XXXX Brew Tour. Ride the City Cat to downtown Brisbane and see City Hall, the Museum of Brisbane, and Queen Street Mall. Take a trip to the Gold Coast and see Snapper Rocks, Kirra, Burleigh Heads Park, Mermaid Beach, Surfers Paradise, and Burleigh Heads. End your stay with a train ride to Beerwah and visit Steve Irwin at the Australia Zoo.
Australia - November 2007 - A Thanksgiving get-away to Australia in November of 2007. A tour of Sydney, Brisbane, the Australia Zoo, and the Gold Coast. Merri Beth and Jason lived the Australia life for two weeks (wish it could have been longer). Enjoy some of the trip!
Barbados - May 2002 - Barbados is a beautiful country. Merri Beth and Jason went to Barbados on May 3, 2002 - May 11, 2002 for their honeymoon. Costa Rica - December 2005 - A total surf trip that saw the North Pacific, Central Pacific, and the Caribbean. Visit Playa Negra, Marbella, and Cafe Playa Negra in the Northern Pacific. Then travel south to Jaco and surf at Playa Hermosa. While in Jaco, see the town sights, Pikos Surfshop, Villa Caletas, Terraza Del Pacifico, and an Hermosa Sunset. While traveling to the Caribbean, see Mirador and the Braulio Carrillo National Park. Once at the Caribbean, see Playa Uva & Puerto Viejo and surf at Playa Cocles & Salsa Brava.
Mexico - Run for the border, a popular visit to Tijuana, Mexico from San Diego. Walk across the border, get some shopping done, have a drink at the bar. Walk back over the border and enjoy the evening back in Southern California.
United States - Visit the following places in the United States: San Diego, California; Cape Canaveral, Florida; Cocoa Beach & Ron Jons Surf Shop, Cocoa Beach, Florida; New York City, New York; Louisville, Kentucky; New River, West Virginia; and, Snowshoe, West Virginia.

United States Extended Travel

Denver Colorado - January 2007 - An extended weekend in Denver, Colorado from January 5 - January 9, 2007 for the National Western Stock Show. Of course, skiing & snowboarding were also on the agenda and we found Buffalo Bill's Museum, Lookout Mountain, Red Rocks, and the Flying Dog Brewery.
Florida - January / February 2010 - A trip to South Florida for the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl. We enjoyed a day at Sun Life stadium for the Pro Bowl, some time in Key Largo, and an adventure on the Everglades.
New Orleans - December 2009 - A trip to New Orleans, Louisiana in December 2009 for a Do It With Drupal Conference. Nights out on Bourbon Street, views from the conference, and a walk through the French Quarter. The conference was at the Marriott on Canal Street, a great location with great views of the city.
New York City - August 2008 - A weekend trip to New York City on August 9-10, 2008. On Saturday, we ventured to Midtown Manhattan to see the Empire State Building and Time Square (including the Toys 'R Us and M&M stores). On Sunday, more of Manhattan, including Rockefeller Center, 5th Avenue, Central Park, the Financial District (Trinity Church, Wall Street, Battery Park), Pier 17 & the East River, Chinatown, Little Italy, and Grand Central Station. A really fun weekend!
Kauai, Hawaii - January 2003 - Our adventure on Kauai included a hike on the Kuamoonounou Trail where we saw whales from the top and nature on the way up and back down. Also check out the Kauai Hyatt, Kilauea Point, Hanalei and some Hanalei Bay Surf. Don't miss the Na Pali Coast, a Black Sand Beach, Waimea Canyon, Spouting Horn, Opaeka Falls and the Wailua River. Lastly, we had fun with Blue Dolphin Charters and did a luau with Smiths Tropical Paradise.
Kauai, Hawaii - May 2005 - A trip to see our friend Jeff Lynn get married in May 2005. See some Kealia surf, a Kauai Sunrise, and views from the Aloha Beach Resort, Wailua Falls, & Lydgate Park. We capped of our return to Kauai with some Poipu surf.
Oahu, Hawaii - May 2005 - Our first trip to the island of Oahu, Hawaii. We stayed in Waikiki, but enjoyed the entire island. We visited the North shore and saw the Dole Plantation, Pipeline & Euhaki Beach, Sunset Beach, Haleiwa, the Surf Museum, Waimea, and Puu O Mahuka Heiau. We drove along the Oahu East Coast and also visited Makapuu Point. For our history lesson, we checked out the USS Arizona Museum, USS Arizona Memorial, USS Bowfin, Punchbowl Crater, and Honolulu Chinatown. For more touristy things, we saw Waikiki Hula show, and fabulous Waikiki Sunset, hiked Diamond Head, had dinner at Dukes, and shopping at the International Market.
Oahu, Hawaii - May 2007 - Jason traveled to Oahu, Hawaii in February 2007 to visit friends Jeff and Rachel. While on the island, he attended the 2007 NFL Pro Bowl, visited the North Shore to see almost perfect Pipeline, went snorkeling at Hanuama Bay, surfed everyday, and enjoyed the island life. Aloha!
San Francisco, California - February 2005 - A week in the Bay Area, February 2005. Check out Half Moon Bay (Mavericks) and Golden Gate Bridge. Also San Francisco and South Bay views are unreal! Also check out the scene at Michi Sushi Bar and a quick visit to the J. Lohr Winery.
San Francisco, California - February 2007 - A week in the Bay Area, February 2007 (a two-year anniversary of Jason's first trip there). A return trip to an exposed Maverick's reef, surf at Ocean Beach, and a good time at The Mission and in Palo Alto.
San Francisco, California - 2008 - Three trips to the Bay Area for work. Three different conferences. First, OSBC 2008 (Open Source Business Conference) in March at The Palace. Then MySQL 2008 User Conference in Santa Clara in April at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Finally, a whole week at Linux World 2008 in August at the Moscone Center.
San Diego, California - May 1999 - This is my 21st birthday trip. I took at trip to the West Coast to visit some friends in San Diego, California. Some surf, lots of fun, and California sun was on the agenda. I checked out the scene around La Jolla Cove, Wind 'n Sea & the Shack, and Pacific Beach. I also went north to Trestles, Swamis, and Oceanside. Enjoy the great scenes from Southern California.
San Diego, California - January 2001 - My second trip to the West Coast to visit some friends in San Diego, California. Some surf, lots of fun, and California sun was on the agenda. I checked out the scene around La Jolla Cove, Wind 'n Sea & the Shack, and Old Town. I also went north to Delmar and Dog Beach. We also headed west a little bit out to the mountains to check out that scene. Enjoy more from Southern California.
San Diego, California - May 2007 - A trip to San Diego, California for the Red Hat Summit 2007 and stayed the weekend to visit some friends and sightsee. A little bit of surf, some great waves at the WaveHouse, and so much more. Visits to downtown, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, PB, and all over.
Seattle, Washington - May 2004 - A trip to the northwest coast to see Seattle in May 2004. Check out downtown Seattle, the Pyramid Ale House and the Space Needle.
