Lumbee Pow Wow
December 6, 2006 - At 3:30 PM, we had a very special treat in store for us. UNC-P students and friends provided a demonstration of Pow Wow dancing. There was one male dancer and three female dancers. All performing unique traditional and modern dances. It is quite a site if you've never seen a Pow Wow before, I would encourage anyone interested to see when one is available in your area. I learned that the Native American communities are very inviting to non-tribe members to their Pow Wows. They love to show their heritage and teach others about their past and current traditions.
