Carolina Hurricanes
The Carolina Hurricanes play in the Entertainment & Sports Arena (now called the RBC Center) in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Hurricanes were formerly the Hartford Whalers and moved to North Carolina in 1998. This is the Triangle's first professional sports team and the Canes are in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). This is North Carolina's second professional sports team. Charlotte, NC is the home of the Carolina Panthers from the National Football League (NFL).
